Riding Programs - Little Britches
Background
“Little Britches” is an opportunity for children aged 4 to 8 to participate in monthly club meetings held at SARI Therapeutic Riding in Arva, Ontario.
Participants will enjoy a fun filled half-day program of crafts, games, songs, horsemanship, a pony ride, and much more! Theme days are also a part of the program, including Farm Discovery and Western Day.
The program is led by a certified instructor with assistance from trained volunteers. A maximum of 12 campers are enrolled in each half-day program. Little Britches is offered in concurrence with SARI’s therapeutic riding lessons.
Registration Procedure
Interested applicants must complete an Application and Waiver, and submit payment of $100.00 before the first meeting date of each session. Payments accepted as cash and cheque only (made payable to SARI Therapeutic Riding).
Registrations are on a first come, first served basis. Applicants may indicate on Application their preference for “Morning Program” or “Afternoon Program”. SARI will endeavour to accommodate first choice where possible.
What to Bring
- Peanut-free snacks and refreshments
- Closed-toe shoes and/or boots (SARI will provide boots if necessary)
- Comfortable pants for pony ride
- Weather appropriate clothing
- Back-pack to carry home crafts or lesson materials
For Participants with Special Needs
If your child has a diagnosed special need and is not currently enrolled at SARI you will be asked to have a Medical Referral Form completed by your attending physician (available through the SARI office). SARI staff will provide an assessment with a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to assess the admission of your child prior to attending the Little Britches program.
