Our Stables

Working at SARI Therapeutic Riding is a job for a few good horses.

“They have to be basically bomb-proof,“ says Ken Charron, SARI’s Farm Manager.

Finding the right horse or pony for the SARI program is a long, difficult process. The horses have to be gentle and quiet. They should have comfortable gaits and move willingly when asked. When the rider pulls on the reins they should not object to the pressure. They have to be able to tolerate noisy toys, unbalanced riders, and people leading from both sides and walking alongside them.

If you have a horse that you would like to donate to SARI, please contact the executive director.

If you’d like to financially support one of the SARI horses, please consider adopting a pony.
