We are launching a new pilot program in Autumn 2026!
Focusing on youth with vulnerabilities, our new program is designed to using the healing power of nature and horses to help build self-esteem, self-awareness, and a connection to nature.
NBET is a form of Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL). It is an unmounted program, where participants will have the opportunity to lead their paired horse through a series of nature-based exercises.
These exercises are designed to improve the participant’s self-esteem, self-awareness, and connection with nature.
Nature-based equine therapy combines the healing power of horses with the calming, regulating effects of the natural outdoor environment.
Sessions will take place in tree-lined paddocks as well as natural open spaces where participants engage in purposeful activities that support their physical, emotional and cognitive development.
Activities may include grooming, leading, groundwork, trail walks and nature exploration. Nature-based equine therapy fosters connection- to self, the horse and to the natural world!
We will be launching this program as a pilot initiative in our fall session this year. We proud to say that, thanks to a generous contribution from the Sifton Foundation, all ten spots will be available to participants free of charge!
