SARI Therapeutic Riding is a charitable organization that provides adaptive equine programming for people with disabilities. We are currently seeking applicants to the position of Program Instructor to deliver adaptive riding and grooming lessons to our participants.

The Program Instructor has a primary responsibility for ensuring safe, quality therapeutic equine instruction as per SARI standards, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of the Program Instructor include but are not limited to:

  • teaching lessons within Therapeutic Riding, Grooming, Summer Camp, Little Britches, and any other program booking,
  • supervising and acting as a resource to volunteer instructors and exercise riders,
  • mentoring and providing training opportunities to volunteers, instructors, and/or exercise riders, and
  • assisting in horse care & training as needed.

Hours: This position has a part time schedule up to 24 hours per week. Ideal candidate will have flexible availability that includes daytime, weekends, and evenings.

Work Location: SARI Therapeutic Riding, 12659 Medway Road, Arva, ON N0M 1C0

Qualifications:

  • Experienced & competent horse handler and rider
  • Experience working with people with disabilities
  • Flexible, demonstrated ability to adapt to change
  • Willingness to teach long hours including evenings and weekends
  • Strong organizational and problem solving/decision-making abilities
  • Demonstrated confidence in a leadership role
  • Ability to work independently and harmoniously as part of a team
  • CanTRA or PATH certification, or willingness to work toward
  • Education in related field an asset
