Every year, SARI chooses a Rider Ambassador from our participants to help us showcase the work we do.
Our Rider Ambassador usually attends events with their family or caregiver to help demonstrate the impact that SARI’s work can have on our participants’ lives.
Sarah has been coming to SARI for over 20 years, and is one of our long-running participants. During her time at SARI, Sarah has shown immense improvements in areas such as self-confidence, independence, and in understanding how her actions and emotions impact her horse.
"SARI has meant so much more to Sarah than just the riding, which she loves! The program has positively supported the development of her communication and independence skills through the years. Just as important is the community of volunteers, staff, and riders and their families that she belongs to and feels so proud to be a part of!"
Andrea, Sarah's mom
Sarah is familiar with our entire herd, but has most recently connected with Rowan. During their sessions, Rowan challenges Sarah to be confident and clear in her communication, and also to work on her relaxation techniques in the saddle.
