Strategic Project Coordinator (contract, full-time)

Strategic Project Coordinator

Contract, full-time

SARI is seeking a Strategic Project Coordinator for a full-time contract of up to 1 year under an Ontario Job Creation Partnership. The Strategic Project Coordinator will assist with development and execution of an expansion plan for SARI’s programs and facilities.

This will include research and needs assessment for programs and funding opportunities, developing an expansion plan for programs and facilities at SARI. They will also assist with proactive donor relations strategy, the solicitation of pertinent in-kind resources, and provide leadership at events.

Duties include:

  • Research community needs and develop plans for a special expansion project, including presenting recommendations to leadership and the Board.

  • Support fundraising through grant and prospect research, donor cultivation and stewardship, direct mail, and special events.

  • Lead and support committees and volunteers, helping to build strong relationships with donors, partners, and other stakeholders.

  • Implement and track a clear, results focused business plan, monitoring activities and progress along the way.

  • Ensure professional standards are met, contribute to a positive culture of philanthropy, and participate in meetings and ongoing learning.

Hours: 40 hours per week, varied schedule, evenings and weekends as required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting fund development, donor stewardship, prospect research, and grant-related activities in a not-for-profit environment
  • Strong research, analytical, and reporting skills, with the ability to assess community needs and present clear recommendations to senior leadership and boards
  • Proven organizational and administrative skills, including database management, KPI tracking, and support for special events
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with donors, volunteers, committees, and community stakeholders while upholding professional and ethical standards
  • Effective communicator with the ability to manage multiple priorities, support strategic initiatives, and contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven culture
  • Valid G2 driver’s license considered an asset, as the work site is in a remote location

Eligibility:

Due to the nature of the Ontario Job Creation Partnership, the applicant must also meet the following requirements:

  • Be a resident of Ontario
  • Meet the Employment Insurance Act’s definition of an “insured participant”
  • Be unemployed (working less than an average of 20 hours per week and actively seeking full-time employment)
  • Complete a readiness assessment by an Employment Services or Integrated Employment Services provider before accessing a OJCP project
  • Individuals affected by long-term unemployment or in long-term receipt of social assistance may be especially suited for OJCP projects
